Not every soldier has a family at home to remind them that they are appreciated and remembered, it is our goal to ensure that ALL soldiers know that they have not been forgotten.
We focus exclusively on United States soldiers serving overseas by composing and shipping personalized care packages to active Units. Just one Unit can consist of over 400 individual soldiers, and we currently only have the capacity to focus on one Unit at a time. While we do give priority to Units serving in extreme conditions and/or war zones, we feel that ANY soldier stationed away from home deserves both our attention and support. Year round, U.S. soldiers are sent overseas for a myriad of reasons, both during war as well as during peacetime.
It is extremely important to note that Adopt a Unit, as an organization, neither supports OR opposes the current war in Iraq or Afghanistan, or any other subsequent (or future) war/conflict involving the U.S. We will not debate, or comment on, any such war/conflict. Our soldiers made the choice to serve their Country in the Armed Forces, and we feel it is our duty as Americans to show those individuals our support and gratitude for their dedication and willingness to sacrifice in the name of Patriotism. Our soldiers serve regardless of their politics; it is only fair that we support them regardless of ours.
As a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization, Adopt a Unit does not have any political affiliations and does not intend to. While we welcome the personal support of any politicians (current, future or past), we cannot and will not endorse any political candidates or parties.
